Alamo, TN
Alamo, Tennessee, located in Crockett County in West Tennessee is a small community of about 2,500 folks. Alamo was named after the famous site in Texas where the Battle of the Alamo was fought. Davy Crockett, a Tennessee statesman, pioneer, and famous frontiersman, along with other Tennessee Volunteers died while defending the Alamo in the Texas Revolution.
Alamo is the county seat for Crockett County, which was formed in 1871 from portions of Haywood, Madison, Dyer and Gibson counties.
